Majors

What are Majors?
Majors give Gesher, Keshet, and Chalutzim campers the opportunity to spend an hour and fifteen minutes each day for a full week focused on something they are excited about. From arts and athletics to cooking, coding, journalism, and more, majors are designed to help campers build skills, confidence, and creativity in a fun and supportive environment.
Who Runs Majors?
Majors are run by experts in their field and organizations in the community that we partner with to give an expert take on each activity. These partners bring their knowledge and passion for their major and enhance learning during the week
Why Do Campers Do Majors?
Giving campers the opportunity to choose their own major helps create a more meaningful and engaging camp experience. Choice encourages independence, builds confidence, and allows campers to explore their individual interests in a supportive environment. By selecting activities they are genuinely excited about, campers become more invested, take greater ownership of their experience, and develop important skills like decision making, creativity, collaboration, and self-expression.
